Nighttime blitz yields 56 tickets

The New York State Police conducted a seatbelt compliance checkpoint on Wednesday, Aug. 25, on Sheridan Drive at Transit Road, in the Town of Clarence.

The checkpoint was conducted between 6 and 10 p.m. with an emphasis on targeting operators and passengers in vehicles who failed to use their safety belt.

The Buckle-Up — All The Time —Every Time initiative resulted in the issuance of 56 traffic tickets, including 30 for no seatbelt, four non-valid registrations and 22 other traffic infractions.

The State Police will continue to conduct these off-hour compliance checkpoints and traffic enforcement details in the future.
