Elephants post big numbers in battle with Rhinos

The Elephants and Rhinos gave their all when the two teams met during their recent Clarence Soccer Club House Division V contest. Anna Perry scored two breakaway goals for the Elephants, while Austin McNicholas had a career-high nine goals in the effort.

In other recent Division V action:

Bears vs. Hyenas

The Bears continued their fine play with an impressive overall effort against the Hyenas. Nick Haidar got the Bears off to a quick start with two early goals, while Amilia Andruschat had a nice goal off a pass by Sydney Gilmartin. Gilmartin and Matt Burkard topped off the scoring for the Bears.

In addition to the strong team play, Sophie Kwiatkowski gave an effort second to none.

Crocodiles vs. Stingrays

The Crocodiles put forth a solid team effort against the Stingrays, with strong defensive efforts by Elle Ridge, Kyle Suen, Adam Brophy and Michael O’Grady and good midfield play by Faith Bowman and Jensen Phillips. Goals were scored by Eli O’Grady and Keefe Suen.

Crocodiles vs. Bobcats Jensen Phillips started the Crocodiles off with a goal against the Bobcats, while Eli O’Grady continued his scoring streak with a goal later in the half. Keefe Suen and Elle Ridge were a wall on defense, which allowed Michael O’Grady, Adam Brophy, Faith Bowman and Kyle Suen to stay on the attack.

Monkeys vs. Dolphins

The Monkeys played a fast-paced game against the Dolphins, with the teams exchanging end-to-end rushes while going goal for goal. Akira Brauch, Gillian Evans and Hunter Dickey provided the offense, with assists going to Abby Hollinsworth, Brendan Ball and Hannah Hillery.

Matthew Cappellucci and Alex Wells both provided solid defensive support throughout the contest.

Elephants vs. Panthers

The Panthers and Elephants played a great game, with Connor Rice scoring three goals for the Elephants. Grace and Kailey Stellrecht made numerous plays on offense and defense for the team.

Monkeys vs. Bobcats

Quick scoring and solid defense carried the day as the Monkeys tallied three goals against a tough Bobcats’ team. Hunter Dickey, Hannah Hillery and Gillian Evans provided the markers for the Monkeys.

Akira Brauch chipped in two assists, while Brenden Ball assisted once. Abby Hollinsworth and Alex Well played well defensively.

Hyenas vs. Squirrels

Morgan Plewinski scored her first goal of the season, while Journey Naab played excellent defense with several blocked shots. Jamis Naab continued showing improvement, while Allison Greene extended her scoring streak with several goals and tremendous energy.

Jack Rushford exhibited great breakaway speed and ball control on offense, while Madeline Bittar continued her strong effort at both ends of the field with assists and blocked shots. Ethan Harris exhibited hustle on the field, helping to lead a strong defensive effort.

Crocodiles vs. Gorillas

The Crocodiles demonstrated another strong defensive game, led by the play of Adam Brophy. Brophy cut down the angles keeping the Gorillas from scoring, while Keefe Suen used any means necessary to keep the ball out of the box.

Elle Ridge and Michael O’Grady were strong in midfield and sped past their defenders, while Kyle Suen had two assists, with goals scored by Eli O’Grady and Faith Bowman.
