Clarence Center walk planned for Sept. 4
The Clarence Center Historical Walk will assemble at the Bank of Akron at Clarence Center and Goodrich roads at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4. The tour guide is Erie County historian C. Douglas Kohler, who will provide a free one-hour walking narrative tour through Clarence Center’s “Four-Corners District.” For more information about the event, call Flora Leamer at 984-5235.
‘Just Moved’ classes planned at church
“Just Moved” is a women’s ministry at Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church that provides a 10-week, Bible-based class for women who have gone through a move. It is for all women in the area, regardless of church affiliation. The fall class starts at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, in the Leadership Room at Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church, 8445 Greiner Road, Clarence. Farmers Market to be held
The Clarence Hollow Farmers Market, 10717 Main St., Clarence, is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through October. On Sept. 4, Kevin McCarthy will provide entertainment from 10 a.m. to noon, and the Winery of the Week will be Hunt Country Vineyards.
Dachshunds invited to Labor Day Parade
The Buffalo Dachshund Club will once again be marching in the Clarence Center Fire Company Labor Day Parade, which starts at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6. Lineup is at 12:30 p.m. at the Engineering Department parking lot on Goodrich Road in Clarence Center. All well-behaved dachshunds on a leash are invited to attend.

Monthly support group for widowed to meet

Benefit for child planned for Sept. 11
“Dreams for Danny,” a benefit for Danny Mogavero, a local 5-year-old with ALD, a rare genetic disease affecting the brain, will take place from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Banchetti’s Grove, 560 North French Road, Amherst. The event will include wine tasting, food, a cash bar, silent auction and raffles. A Broadway-style review, “Journeys,” presented by Enchanté Cabaret will begin at 7 p.m. Presale tickets are available at www.brownpapertickets.com and at the door for a $50 donation.
Women ’s Club for picnic in park
The Clarence Women’s Club’s first gathering for the 2010-11 year will be a “Picnic in the Park” at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, in the town view pavilion at the Clarence Town Place Park, 5400 Goodrich Road. A cold buffet dinner catered by Johnny C’s will be followed by the club’s opening meeting. The Clarence Women’s Club, which meets monthly from September to June, is an organization for women interested in social enrichment and community outreach activities. ‘Meet a Mason Night’ planned for Sept. 14
The Masons of Akron Lodge 527, which serves the Clarence, Akron, and Alden communities, invites any man interested in joining the worldwide Masonic fraternity to a “Meet the Masons Night” at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Akron Lodge, 63 John Street, Akron. Wine tasting, auction set at Our Lady of Peace
