Private investigator follows wrong woman
Saturday, Jan. 14
There was a report of suspicious activity on Kraus Road. Two vehicles were pulled off the road, and a male was outside one of the vehicles yelling at a female. The vehicles left before patrol arrived.
An 18-year-old employee was charged with petit larceny in connection with the theft of money from McDonald’s on Transit Road. He was released on an appearance ticket.
Sunday, Jan. 15
A disorderly male was reported at NOCO on Transit Road. The intoxicated patron was being belligerent. He also went behind the counter into an employee-only area. The responding deputy charged the male with trespass. The male was also arrested for driving while intoxicated after failing field sobriety tests. He refused to take a breath test.
A motorist reported that a man was walking down the middle of Meadowbrook Road with his dog, obstructing traffic. The man was gone when patrol arrived.
Deputies responded to an ongoing neighbor dispute at an apartment complex on Main Street. The complainant feels that his neighbor had keyed his pickup during the night.
A resident of Fox Trace reported that kids had been out egging houses. There is an ongoing issue with vandalism in the neighborhood.
An 18-year-old male from Clarence was charged with false personation after he reportedly tried to purchase alcohol while using false identification. The incident occurred at NOCO on Transit Road.
Monday, Jan. 16
A disturbance was reported on Sheridan Drive. The manager of a fitness center was having problems with a disorderly female who would not leave. The woman left after speaking with deputies.
A suspicious man was reported milling around on Main Street. He was waiting for a meeting of the Clarence Hollow Association.
A dark-colored Infiniti was weaving and driving recklessly on Main Street. Patrol checked the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.
Tuesday, Jan. 17
A male called from Corrine Lane stating that an unknown male had followed his wife from Amherst and that he and some friends had the vehicle blocked in on a dead-end street. The man was a private investigator who was investigating an insurance disability case. The investigator had mistakenly been following the wrong person. He was investigating the complainant’s sister, not his wife.
An alarm was reported at a business on Harris Hill Road. Deputies checked the building with the key holder. It appears that the alarm was triggered by high winds.
An employee of McDonald’s on Transit Road reported that a window of his vehicle had been smashed while he was at work. Textbooks and a digital camera were reportedly stolen.
Wednesday, Jan. 18
An employee of a business on Sheridan Drive reported getting harassing telephone calls from a former client. The complainant just wanted a report to document the issue.
A resident of Main Street reported that loud music was coming from a nearby auto dealership. The manager was advised to turn down the music.
A silver Jeep was reportedly driving erratically on Main Street. The Jeep struck a vehicle and continued west on Main Street; it was stopped by patrol after causing a second minor accident. A 49-year-old Clarence man was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, following too closely, failing to keep right and driving a vehicle while impaired by drugs.
Thursday, Jan. 19
A 21-year-old male from Clarence was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after he was stopped for a traffic violation on Goodrich Road. He was released on an appearance ticket.
A resident of Pineledge Drive reported that her vehicle was stolen from her driveway. The vehicle is a 2000 white Lexus. The complainant felt that a family member may have taken the vehicle.
A resident of Via Marina Drive reported that his vehicle had been stolen from his driveway. The 2008 Hummer was located abandoned a few miles from the residence and was impounded for processing.
A 41-year-old man from Clarence was charged with assault in the third degree after he allegedly assaulted a process server who came to his residence. The offender was transported to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment.
Friday, Jan. 20
Deputies responded to Goodrich Road for a male who was reportedly trying to harm himself. He was transported to Erie County Medical Center for an evaluation.
Deputies responded to the Bon Ton for a report of loss prevention officers struggling with two subjects who had attempted to steal a cart full of merchandise. Detectives from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office are looking for two persons of interest.
