Kiwanis Club to meet at Helen’s Kitchen
The Clarence Kiwanis Club will meet at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at Helen’s Kitchen in the Main/Transit Plaza. There will not be a Tuesday dinner meeting at Gianni Mazia’s this month. Cafe Connect to offer group discussion
Cafe Connect meets from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays at the Clarence Center Coffee Co., 9475 Clarence Center Road, with the goal of discussing various topics and engaging in meaningful conversation. The group was started by Corey Tarreto, student pastor at Clarence Center United Methodist Church. The theme for the Jan. 25 conversation will be “Are miracles real? What counts as a miracle?” The conversations will be posted online at alt-church.blogspot.com.
Winter Art Safari course planned at bookstore
A 20-week Winter Art Safari course will be offered from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, through March 27, for ages 6 to 9 at Monkey See, Monkey Do ... Children’s Bookstore, 9060 Main St., Clarence. The course will be offered for ages 4 to 9 from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturdays, through March 31. The course will allow young artists to discover their talents as they explore the stories and illustrations of a different book each week. It’s being taught by certified art teacher Linda Dugan. Service of Light planned for Jan. 29 at church

Knights of Columbus hosting spaghetti dinner
John Cardinal O’Hara Council No. 13661 Knights of Columbus is hosting a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, at the Msgr. Hammerl Parish Center of Our Lady of Peace Church, 10950 Main St., Clarence. Tickets are $7 for adults; juniors ages 6 to 12 are $5; and children 5 and younger are free. Lions Club planning pancake breakfast
The Clarence Lions Club will hold its annual all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, in the Clarence High School cafeteria, 9625 Main St. The event also will offer eggs, sausages, orange juice, fruit cup, coffee and milk. Magic Tree House Book Club to be held

CMS to host open-play hockey
The Clarence Recreation Department is offering hockey from 9 to 11:45 a.m. Saturdays at Clarence Middle School, 10150 Greiner Road, for grades six to eight. Register at the school. Players must supply their own sticks, but eye protection is provided. Games will be an open-play format.
