Computer Support
Volunteers are available in the CSC library to assist center members with computer use according to the following schedule: 10 a.m. to noon Wednesdays and 10 to 11:30 a.m. Fridays. Volunteers are experienced with computers and can offer assistance with email, Internet searches, software questions and general computer use.

Learn to Play Rummikub
10 a.m. Friday, Feb 3 — The game of Rummikub is based on the elements of traditional rummy using tiles instead of cards. Join CSC member Kitty Strickland as she teaches participants how to play Rummikub. She will repeat this class on Fridays, Feb. 10, 17 and 24. Sign up in the office.
Visit with Violet
11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6 — Four-legged friend Violet, a yellow Labrador, and her owner, Kathy, will visit the Center. Violet and Kathy will visit the Center again at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21.
Book Group
1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6 — February’s book selection is “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” by Mark Twain. All are invited to join the discussion.
BlueCross BlueShield of WNY
10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7 — A representative from BlueCross BlueShield will be available to answer questions on current policies or the rules of Medicare.
Volunteer Meeting
10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7 — Debbie Santiago, program coordinator, will discuss upcoming volunteer opportunities in the Center and in the community. All are welcome to attend.
Extreme Couponing
10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9 — This three-week workshop will share the basics of couponing and the secrets of getting the best deals. Cindy Beam of capturecoupons.com will teach you how to stack coupons, get rewards from the drugstores, learn organization skills, overages, how to understand store policies and more. You do not have to be Internet-savvy to take this class. Class will also meet at 10:30 a.m. Thursdays, Feb. 16 and 23. The cost is $5 for each class or $15 for the entire workshop. Plan on attending all three classes. Sign up and pay in the office.
Greeting Card Workshop
1:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9 — Instructor and demonstrator Diane Carr will assist participants in making two new greeting cards. View a sample of the cards that will be created in the front display case. The cost for the craft is $5. Sign up and pay in the office.
CSC Travelers Meeting
10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10 — All members interested in travel are invited to attend this meeting to discuss upcoming travel plans.
Introduction to Acrylic Painting
1:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13 — At this free introductory class, instructor Lynn Ucci will give an overview of working with acrylic paints. She will discuss the properties of acrylic paints, exploring the color wheel and applying paint to canvas. Instructional painting classes will be offered on on Mondays at 1:15 p.m., beginning on Monday, Feb. 27. Sign up in the office.
MVP Health Care
10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14 — MVP Health Care offers Medicare Advantage health plans in Western New York. Attend this free meeting to get to know MVP Medicare plans and benefits. There is no obligation to join.
Valentine’s Luncheon
11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14 — Celebrate Valentine’s Day at the Center. Entertainment provided by Bob Sugg will begin at 11:15 a.m. Lunch is served at 12:30 p.m. for a suggested donation of $2.75. Sign up on the Nutrition Board by Tuesday, Feb. 7.
Antiques To Go
1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14 — Linens, handcrafted by the housewife, were a very important part of our ancestors’ household possessions. However, some linens were woven on computerized looms by itinerant weavers. Come and share your heirlooms. All Center members are invited to attend.
Widows & Widowers
2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14 — This group meets on the second Tuesday of each month. Participants socialize, share ideas and discuss things they have in common. Light refreshments will be served. All are welcome.
Day Trip
“The Dixie Swim Club” Riverside Dinner Theater, Cambridge Springs, Pa.
In “The Dixie Swim Club,” five Southern women, whose friendship began many years ago on their college swim team, set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships. Free from husbands, kids and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage on North Carolina’s Outer Banks to catch up, laugh and meddle in each other’s lives. The group will depart by motorcoach from the Clarence Senior Center at 9 a.m. and return at approximately 6:30 p.m. Participants will stop for lunch at the Cambridge Springs hostelry before the performance. The cost is $79. Sign up in the Center office.
Hidden Valley Animal Adventure, Varysburg
Experience an up-close view of a wind turbine at High Sheldon Wind Farms before stopping for a buffet lunch at Hidden Valley’s Trailside Grill. After lunch, board a “safari trolley” for a one-hour narrated tour through the 63-acre exotic animal park, which includes camel, wildebeest, emu, bison, ostrich, zebra and other animals. Leave the Center at 10:15 a.m. and return at approximately 4:15 p.m. The cost is $79. Sign up in the Center office.

The Outer Banks
Sunday, May 6 to Friday, May 11 — This trip includes a visit to Kitty Hawk & the Wright Brothers National Memorial; a full day of touring on Cape Hatteras National Seashore; a visit to Roanoke Island, including the Elizabethan Gardens; Virginia Beach, including the Cape Henry Lighthouse; The Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center and other activities. The cost is $799 per person based on double occupancy; and $929 for a single. Sign up in the office with a $100 deposit.
