Cafe Connect offering group discussion
Cafe Connect meets from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays at the Clarence Center Coffee Co., 9475 Clarence Center Road, with the goal of discussing various topics and engaging in meaningful conversation. The group was started by Corey Tarreto, student pastor at Clarence Center United Methodist Church. The theme for the Feb. 1 conversation will be “What drives you? What is it you work so hard for?” The conversations will be posted online at alt-church.blogspot.com.
Book Review Club to meet on Feb. 1
Clarence Book Review Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at the Clarence Town Park Club House, 10405 Main St., Clarence. The book will be “Cutting for Stone,” by Abraham Verghese. The reviewer will be Alicia Michielli. A luncheon will be served. For further information, call 759-8586.
Women’s Club to hear presentation on Feb. 6
The Clarence Women’s Club will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, in the Clarence Town Park Club House, 10405 Main St. A presentation about the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus will be given by its executive director, Matthew Enstice. Lions Club holding game night on Feb. 9
The Clarence Lions Club will hold its membership/game night meeting from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Clarence Town Park Club House, 10405 Main St. Men and women of all ages who are interested in community service and friendship are invited to find out more about the Lions Club. Buffalo Dance Center schedules classes
Buffalo Dance Center will be offering six-week tap and jazz sessions. Winter classes begin this week. They will be held on Mondays at Our Lady of Peace Church, 10950 Main St., Clarence. From 6 to 7 p.m., there will be adult intermediate tap; from 7 to 8 p.m., adult jazz; and from 8 to 9 p.m., adult beginning tap. The cost per six-week session is $48. Trip to Scotland, England planned for summer
The Rev. Gregory Hall of Clarence Presbyterian Church will lead a small group tour to Scotland and northern England from July 6 to 18. This leisurely paced tour will trace the spread of Celtic Christianity from Iona in the west of Scotland to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne and on to York in the north of England. B.L.E.S.S. holding ‘Evening with Friends’
“An Evening with Friends” to support and celebrate the Better Life Enrichment Support Services Community Outreach Center, Wear ‘N Share children’s clothing charity and Still In One Peace Crisis Services will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at B.L.E.S.S. Community Outreach Center, 9365 Clarence Center Road, directly in front of Epiphany United Church of Christ. The cost is $25 per person. CMS to host open-play hockey
The Clarence Recreation Department is offering hockey from 9 to 11:45 a.m. Saturdays at Clarence Middle School, 10150 Greiner Road, for grades six to eight. Register at the school. Players must supply their own sticks, but eye protection is provided. Games will be an open-play format. Lions Club planning pancake breakfast
The Clarence Lions Club will hold its annual all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, in the Clarence High School cafeteria, 9625 Main St. The event also will offer eggs, sausages, orange juice, fruit cup, coffee and milk. Knights of Columbus hosting spaghetti dinner
John Cardinal O’Hara Council No. 13661 Knights of Columbus is hosting a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, at the Monsignor Hammerl Parish Center of Our Lady of Peace Church, 10950 Main St., Clarence.
