Two from Clarence will be representing Section VI at the 2015 NYSPHSAA girls golf championship.

Alexis Kim and Madison Cooper both placed in the top nine to earn one of the nine qualifying spots to the state championship.

The Section VI Championship, held at Gowanda Country Club, saw a return champion in Lancaster’s Chelsea Dantonio.

Dantonio shot 74 over 18 holes and won on the third playoff hole over Southwestern High School’s Marissa DelMonaco.

Sophomore Kim was Clarence’s top finisher, shooting a 94 over 18 holes to earn the fourth place finish.

Kim started off her round with a decent score of 45 on the front nine.

Her round got a little shakier on the back, scoring 49. However, she played a very strong game and finished in fourth.

Cooper finished in ninth place, shooting a 107 over 18 holes.

Cooper shot a 55 on the front nine and 51 on the back.

The NYSPHSAA tournament will be held June 13 and 14 at SUNY Delhi.
