Clarence Citizens for Veterans to hold fifth annual fundraiser

Clarence Citizens for Veterans, named the organization of the year in 2016 by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce, is hosting their fifth annual Open Your Heart Fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2016, at the Clarence Town Park Club House, 10405 Main Street.

Admission to the event is $10 and includes entry into a doorprize raffle. Only those ages 21 and over will be admitted.

The proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Fisher House Foundation and the Independence Fund, Track Chair Program.

Last year, Clarence Citizens for Veterans supported established regional organizations, including Western New York Veterans Housing Coalition and Western New York Heroes, along with helping to fulfill the needs of several individuals and their families. They provided veterans with food and furniture. They helped them move and brought holiday cheer through their Christmas gift giving.

CCV members have also been working to remodel a room at the Response to Love Center, on Kosciuszko Street in Buffalo, which will be used by the Am Vets, Tour of Duty, Training and Counseling Center.

This year’s Open Your Heart Fundraiser will include beer, wine and food from local restaurants. There will be a basket and 50/50 raffle.

Silent auction items will include signed jerseys from Gil Perrault, Dominic Hasek, Ryan O’Reilly and a signed stick from Danny Gare. A separate raffle will be held later in the evening for a chance to win a signed Jack Eichel jersey.
