Many due thanks for helping with pancake breakfast
The Clarence Lions Club had its annual pancake breakfast on Feb. 5. It was a great fundraising event, and the attending public really enjoyed the pancakes, sausages and eggs along with all the trimmings. Thank you to all who attended and enjoyed both the pancakes and also the huge basket raffle. Over 500 meals were served.
This event is done every year to raise money that is given back to the Clarence community with no deductions for administrative costs. The event takes many hands to carry off and is aided by the contributions by many businesses in the area.
The Lions Club would like to thank the many Lions members who dedicate endless hours planning for and setting up for the event. This year many Lions spouses donated their time to help with the basket raffle that many attendees enjoyed. There are a number of local businesses that are always willing to help by donation of products and labor. To name a few: Dash’s Market, Passport Liquor, Kreher’s Farm Fresh Eggs and Reliable Propane. The Clarence Bee is a great partner in the event. It wrote and published a wonderful story of the Lions Club in Clarence and the tradition of the Lions pancake breakfast, which has been held for nearly 50 years.
We thank the Clarence High School administrative, janitorial and kitchen staff who work very hard to make the event a success. Every year there are up to 15 Clarence High School seniors who volunteer to help serve in the cafeteria. Their help makes the event a success.
Thank you for another great year.
