Senior Center needs more space

Three years ago, I wrote to the Clarence town supervisor asking if it were possible to have a room added to the Senior Center on Thompson Road. I was told that the town’s leaders were in the process of planning a new Center building that would be initiated in about a year. It has been three years. There is no new Center or even an added room.

The majority of the Center members love the Center we have; we just need a little more room. The only large room we have is needed for too many events, resulting in canceled activities.

When my letter was published in The Bee, a woman accused me of taking food out of her child’s mouth.

I hope this woman lives to be a senior. Then, she can tell me how she feels about it. My husband died a year and a half ago, and I don’t know how I would have gotten through this lonely stretch of my life without the Senior Center, where I enjoy numerous activities and the company of friends.

One large room — that’s all we’re asking for.
