Vivian B. Moomaw, gift shop owner

Vivian B. Moomaw (nee Blanchard), 90, of Clarence, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017.

Mrs. Moomaw was born on June 27, 1927, in northeast Ohio and in 1949, married her husband, Richard.

Mrs. Moomaw was in the League of Women Voters and Meals on Wheels and was a founder of Harvest Happening and an active member of the Clarence United Methodist Church.

She was a part owner of both Emporium Gift and Christmas Shop in Clarence Center and created more than 30 scarecrows for the continuing scarecrow festival in Clarence Hollow.

Mrs. Moomaw is survived by three children, David, James and Kathryn; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three siblings.

A celebration of life was held on Oct. 6 at Clarence United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Clarence/Newstead Meals on Wheels.
