Ladder on car causes alarm

Saturday, Dec. 16

Patrol responded to Stickler Road to two calls of a suspicious man walking down the side of the road. No laws were being violated.

Sunday, Dec. 17

A 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were charged with robbery in the second degree and felony-level grand larceny after they allegedly assaulted a loss prevention officer at Eastern Hills Mall in November of this year while reportedly stealing property. The man was also charged with assault in the second degree. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office arrested the pair while they were at the Erie County Holding Center on unrelated charges.

Monday, Dec. 18

A resident of Royal Oak Drive called about a silver sedan parked near her house that had a ladder on it. The driver of the vehicle worked for a business that washes windows, and he was looking for the address of his next appointment.

Deputies responded to a disturbance on Oakwood Drive. An intoxicated couple had been fighting. The woman left for the night. There were no charges.

Tuesday, Dec. 19

A 65-year-old woman was charged with petit larceny after she was detained for allegedly shoplifting at Eastern Hills Mall.

A 34-year-old man was charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended registration and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree following a traffic stop on Transit Road.

Wednesday, Dec. 20

A 41-year-old man was charged with petit larceny after he was detained for shoplifting at the Bon-Ton. He was remanded to the Holding Center on cash bail.

Deputies were called to a Sheridan Drive address for a report of a 14-year-old male youth who did not want to go to school. He was advised.

Thursday, Dec. 21

A resident of Valley Stream Road reported that her fiance’s daughter keeps calling her and calling her names. Both parties were advised by patrol.

Friday, Dec. 22

A 31-year-old woman was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after deputies stopped her vehicle for a lighting violation. She was remanded to the Holding Center pending arraignment.

Deputies arrested a 51-year-old man on charges of aggravated driving while intoxicated and failing to keep right on a two-lane road. The man submitted to a breath test, which reportedly showed a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit.
