Hawk Creek Wildlife Center to host fundraiser

Hawk Creek Wildlife Center is gearing up for its capital fundraising event, Diamonds and Denim. The event will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at the Hayloft in the Grove, 11736 Big Tree Road, East Aurora.

More than 200 people are expected to attend the event, according to Hawk Creek volunteer Vickie Eberth. Eberth says the money raised during the capital campaign will be used to help finish building enclosures at a new, 13-acre property on Mill Road in West Falls.

Hawk Creek, one of the largest not-for-profit educational outreach centers in New York State, helps around 500 animals each year, and with the help of its volunteers, hosts thousands of educational programs throughout Western New York.

Guests attending the Denim and Diamond fundraiser will be treated to a night of live music by Mercury Blues, as well as dinner and a live and silent auction. An expert from Buffalo Cigars will be on hand to roll cigars, and several live animals will make an appearance at the event.

Tickets are $100 per person or $900 for a table of 10 people. Guests are asked to wear jeans and a dress shirt.
