CLARENCE PUBLIC LIBRARY Calendar of Activities

Beginners Chess Clinic

The Clarence Public Library is hosting a five-week chess clinic for beginners, sponsored by Kids Play Chess, LLC. Registration began Jan. 20 and covers all five sessions, which started on Feb. 3. Space is limited to 20 registrants. Remaining sessions will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 10 and 17, and March 3 and 10. Each 90-minute session begins with instruction using demonstration boards, computer projections and sometimes pen-and-paper assignments. The remainder of the session provides time to play against opponents under the supervision of one or more instructors. Modest prizes will be awarded for various accomplishments.

‘YOGA’-ta Have Fun

Join Donna from Kidding Around Yoga for yoga classes for children. The program is designed for ages 3 to 5 and will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9. Call to register. Space is limited.

Indoor Kids' Winter Global Games

An after-school program involving indoor library winter games will take place at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12. The program is for ages 8 to 12.

After-School Craft Time

Join Miss Sarah and volunteers from the Clarence High School National Art Club and make a mask for the international celebration of Carnival. This program is designed for ages 5 to 12 and will take place at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13. Call to register.

Friday and Saturday; closed Sunday
