Chamber is on the move

Clarence Chamber of Commerce

For the Clarence Chamber, 2011 was a banner year. Just ask the 23 members of the Clarence Chamber board of directors, who are up and running with each event and program scheduled for this year.

With the business diversity of our board of directors, the top goal was to relocate our office to continue our growth pattern, increase membership to help our businesses grow and create programs that will benefit our members. We relocated our office to 8899 Main St., Suite 4, and we completed 2011 meeting our goals and are excited to see what 2012 will bring.

Relocating the Chamber office not only gives us an opportunity to help our members, but also allows us to offer service groups, organizations and not-for-profit groups a place to hold their meetings if they don’t have a place to meet.

Our “Women in Business Conference” is scheduled for Oct. 17 at Samuel’s Grande Manor. This program last year was a great success, and we look forward to making it a premier event to help the women in Western New York work toward their goals. This year, instead of a dinner concept, we will start at about 11 a.m. and have a luncheon and then a panel discussion that will move into workshops. This will give our attendees an opportunity to attend the conference during the day and not have to worry about evening obligations.

The Chamber will sponsor the annual Awards Dinner next February. Other Chamber-sponsored events include the annual Golf Outing held this year at Arrowhead Golf Course on June 4, the ninth annual Taste of Clarence & Cruise Night on Aug. 6 at Clarence Town Park on Main Street, and the Legislative Breakfast on Sept. 8 at the Clarence Library. The Chamber also sponsors the Business Round Table every other month and the Clarence Toastmasters, who meet every Thursday morning from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Clarence Library, which is open to everyone.

We are looking to continue to grow during the next few years and would welcome your business becoming part of the Clarence Chamber of Commerce. As we continue to grow, we look forward to working with the Town of Clarence, Clarence school district, businesses, service groups and associations for a well-rounded community.
