Chili-Chowder Cook-off still looking for contestants

Winterfest is approaching, and the Clarence Lions Club will again host its Chili and Chowder Cook-off from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, in the large pavilion at Town Park, 10405 Main St.

“This is an opportunity for area nonprofits to showcase their cooking skills with a batch of their favorite recipes to compete for bragging rights to the best chili or chowder in Clarence,” said Lions Club President Tim Pazda.

Those entering the cook-off must represent a nonprofit organization. Participants will be critiqued by local celebrity judges, and there will also be a “People’s Choice” award.

Pazda encourages anyone hoping to win the grand prize either to bring a “killer recipe” or a bunch of supporters to stuff the ballot box.

For more information on entering, contact Pazda at 984-3245 or pazda@roadrunner.com.
