Request for Proposals

Reconnaissance Level Survey of Barns and Agricultural Structures Background

The Town of Clarence has been awarded a grant from the New York State Office of parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation for the development of a Reconnaissance Level Survey of Barns and Agricultural Structures.

This project involves the identification and collection of preliminary documentation for properties containing barns and agricultural structures located within the Town of Clarence that are potentially deserving of local recognition and or designation or, more significantly, are potentially eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic places (NRHP). Project to be completed no later than September 30, 2014. Scope of Services

The Reconnaissance Level Survey of Barns and Agricultural Structures involves the development of a survey of agricultural structures located within the Town of Clarence to determine historic significance. The Town will provide a listing of agricultural structures constructed prior to 1950 as a starting point and the consultants will provide a survey of these structures including but not limited to, photos, historic records, present condition and materials used. Proposal Conditions

The Clarence Historic Preservation Commission will review the submitted pro- posals and make a selection based upon experience of the consultant team members, the quality and relevance of comparable projects, and reference checks. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all of the submittals.

Three copies of the proposal must be received by October 4th, 2013 and are to be addressed to: Jonathan Bleuer, Junior Planner, Office of Planning and Zoning, Town of Clarence, One Town Place, Clarence, NY 14031.

TOWN OF CLARENCE

Having received the 2013-2014 School Tax Warrants and rolls dated September 1, 2013 for the Clarence Central School District, the Williamsville Central School District and the Akron Central School District, Nancy C. Metzger, Town Clerk of the Town of Clarence announces the following:

Taxes may be paid Monday through Friday from 8:30 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. in person at the Town Clerk’s Office, One Town Place, Clarence, New York or mailed to same; or in person at Bank of Akron locations – 9470 Clarence Center Rd., Clarence Center; and 9865 Main St., Clarence.

A night deposit box is available to the right of the front entrance at the Town Hall.

Payments made by October 15th are free of penalties.

From October 16th through October 31st, 7.5% penalties are charged.

From November 1st through December 2nd, 9.0% penalties including interest are charged.

Tax Rates per One Thousand Dollars of Assessed Value are as follows: Clarence Central - $14.609851; Williamsville Central - $18.854988; and Akron Central - $15.916199.

TOWN OF CLARENCE

NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Sealed bids will be received in the Office of the Clarence Town Clerk, One Town Place, Clarence, New York and opened at a public bid opening on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. for Removal of Leaf Compost located at the Town’s Sheridan Drive site.

All bids must be sealed and accompanied with a 10% bid bond and clearly marked Leaf Compost Bid.

Leaf Compost material to be sold by the Town of Clarence to the highest bidder, priced per cubic yard. The volume consists of a pile totaling 866 cubic yards. The material will be loaded and removed from the site by the successful bidder within 60 days from the time of bid. The bidder must supply all necessary insurance certificates and payment must be made in full to the Town of Clarence before any material can be removed from the site.

The Town of Clarence reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
