Flight 3407 Memorial Race registration open

Registration has begun for the sixth annual Flight 3407 Memorial 5K Race, which will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Clarence Town Place Park, 5400 Goodrich Road. The entry fee for this U.S. Track & Field-sanctioned event is $25 per person. Proceeds from this year’s race will benefit Remember Flight 3407 Inc., Clarence Citizens for Veterans and the Eastern Hills Sunrise Rotary Foundation. George F. Lamm Post schedules open house

George F. Lamm Post No. 622 will host an open house from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at 962 Wehrle Drive, between Union and Cayuga roads in Williamsville. Attendees can meet veterans of the George F. Lamm Post and have the opportunity to get involved with the post. Additionally, an Erie County service officer will be present to answer questions about benefits. Bring discharge papers and checkbook for membership dues if interested in joining.

Monkey See, Monkey Do sets interactive program

Monkey See, Monkey Do will introduce youngsters ages 12 months and up to the bookstore during a free, low-key, interactive Teeny Monkey Story Time from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on the first Saturday of every month. Each month the store will choose themes to match the seasons and children’s milestones. The program will continue on Oct. 4, Nov. 1 and Dec. 6. Schools foundation sets golf tournament

The Clarence Schools Enrichment Foundation will host its inaugural golf outing at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at Rothland Golf Course, 12089 Clarence Center Road, Akron. Registration begins at 7 a.m., with an 8 a.m. shotgun start and 1:30 p.m. cocktail luncheon. An auction and other prizes will be available. Tickets are $175 per golfer or $600 per foursome, with lunch tickets available for $60. Register online at www.clarenceschool fund.org.

Heritage Group to host farmhouse meeting

The Clarence Town Heritage group will host a meeting to further discuss conservation efforts aimed at the Bishop Lapp-Riegel Farmstead off Greiner Road at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, in the small meeting room at the Clarence Town Park Clubhouse, 10405 Main St. For more information, contact Carol Conwall at 634-2033.

ABC Bel Canto choir holding auditions

Auditions are ongoing for children and adolescents entering grades three through 12 to join ABC Bel Canto choir. Last year, 130 students from 35 schools participated. Butterfly release planned at Farmers Market

The Clarence Hollow Farmers Market, 10717 Main St., will host a butterfly release sponsored by the Eastern Monarch Butterfly Farm at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13. The market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through October. For more information, visit www.clarencefarm ersmarket.com.

Friends of Harmony spaghetti dinner set

The 10th annual Friends of Harmony Spaghetti Supper will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Clarence Town Park Club House, 10405 Main St. Admission is $10 per adult or $5 per child and includes free pasta refills, meatballs, salad, rolls, a beverage and dessert. Live entertainment will be provided by the Friends of Harmony chorus and quartets, as well as raffle prizes, split club and pick-a-prize auctions. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Genealogy presentation set at Brookfield C.C.

The Clarence chapter of NYS Women Inc. will host “Meeting Your Ancestors: Genealogy 101” with guest speaker Mary Koszlak at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Brookfield Country Club, 5120 Shimerville Road. Networking begins at 6, followed by Koszlak’s presentation at 6:30 and dinner at 7:15.
