O’Hara plans inaugural black and gold 5K run/walk

Cardinal O’Hara High School in the Town of Tonawanda will host its inaugural Black and Gold Run the Hawk 5K Run/Walk starting at 6:30 p.m. June 26, starting and finishing at the high school, 39 O’Hara Road.

The course will be flat out and back with water at the halfway point.

Prizes will be awarded for the first male and female overall, overall alumni male and female as well as first, second and third male and female in each five-year age group. There will be no duplicate awards.

The fee for those who register through June 25 is $20. The fee for O’Hara students is $15, for alumni, $17, and for Lancaster Strider and Checker’s members, $18. Day of registration fee is $25.

The fee includes a post-race celebration with music, food, beer, water and soda. For those wishing to attend the post-party only, the fee is $10. The first 200 registered runners will receive a commemorative T-shirt.

Proceeds from the event will fund scholarships, curriculum enhancement and building improvements at O’Hara.
