Red Devil Camps to hold soccer, lacrosse sessions

The Red Devil Camps program is gearing up for another summer of instructing future Clarence High School athletes in the finer points of soccer and lacrosse.

The camps — the Next Generation Soccer Camp, Future Champs Soccer Camp and Red Devils Lacrosse Camp — will all be held during July at Clarence Middle School under the directions Mike Silverstein and others involved with the two sports at Clarence.

The Next Generation Soccer Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 6-9 and is open to boys and girls who will be entering third through eighth grades at the start of the 2015-16 school year. The camp, which costs $105 per camper, will also be led by Stephanie Stevens and Kevin Floss who, like Silverstein, is a current soccer coach at Clarence.

Campers will learn the skills, moves and plays necessary to become a future High School soccer player. Drills and games, as well as instruction, will be organized and conducted by the Clarence High School soccer coaches. Each camper will receive a Red Devil camp T-shirt for their participation.

The Future Champs Soccer camp will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. July 13-16 and is open to boys and girls who will be entering kindergarten through second grade next school year. The camp, which costs $65 per camper, is run by Silverstein and Floss.

Future Champs is a camp designed for young children of all abilities who want to learn more about soccer and have fun at the same time. Campers will participate in engaging skill stations, as well as play small-sided games. Each camper will receive an official camp bag for their participation.

The Red Devils Lacrosse Camp will be held from 9 a.m to 12 p.m. July 20-23 and is open to boys entering second through eighth grades in the fall. The camp, which costs $100 per participant, will be run by Silverstein and his staff, which will include area high school and college coaches.

The Red Devil Lacrosse Camp offers campers the opportunity to learn the fastest growing game in Western New York. The camp will focus on all aspects of the game, including developing fundamentals through fun and challenging drills. Instruction will include game situations that focus on teaching the finer points of the game.

This camp is designed for any player from those just learning the game to those looking to raise their level.

For registration information for either soccer camp, contact Silverstein at msil1023@yahoo.com or Floss at kjfloss@hotmail.com.

Online registration for all three camps through the community link on the Clarence District website — www.clarenceschools.org — will be available in early June. Lacrosse camp registration only can also be completed online at www.clarencelax.com.
