Year-end celebrations a reminder to join CHA

JEAN O’CONNELL
President Clarence Hollow Association

The Clarence Hollow Association continues to advocate for making the Hollow a better, cleaner place.

I want to thank my new board member, Larry Ramunno, for his diligence in meeting with the town employees regarding code violations in the Hollow.

He has also spoken to code enforcement regarding our makeover house at the corner of Salt Road and Main Street in an effort to get the property cleaned up. Keep the complaints coming. You can contact Larry at count48@roadrunner.com or his cellphone at 430-3048.

We are happy to invite everyone to a free holiday party at the Clarence Town Park Club House from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14. Our restaurant members will be contributing a favorite dish, with wine also, and there is a chance to mingle with everyone as you enjoy the food and entertainment. There will be entertainment by the Clarence High School String Quartet, a raffle and a chance for you to renew or join our membership. The club house is located at 10405 Main St.

Business memberships are varying levels and can be found posted on our website, or if you are already a member, you will receive a mailing.

That brings me to a change in resident memberships. We have dropped the price to $25 per year, in the hopes that we can get more of you who live in the Hollow to join and help us with our many activities.

Membership applications can be obtained at the party or downloaded off our website. Please check our website at www.clarencehollowassociation.org or contact Heather Milone at hmilone@grantsareus.com or 759-8580.

Also, the Dec. 14 party will be our annual membership meeting, as dictated by our bylaws. Three board members are running for re-election: Heather Milone, Michele Mogavero and me. There will be election ballots available for everyone who now belongs and is allowed to vote. Each of us will give a short presentation on our reasons for wanting to continue to help the Hollow. In order to know how much food to have for the party, we would really appreciate an RSVP to hmilone@grantsareus.com or 759-8580.

As our beautification project this year, we have replaced the “Wel- come to Clarence Hollow” signs on each hill. The one on the east hill is already installed, and the one on the west hill will be soon. We are trying to move it to a more visible location, so stay tuned.

As reported previously, the Clarence Rotary Club is paying for the first Discover Main Street bike rack.

We are working with the Clarence Hollow Farmers Market, Clarence Bowling Academy and the town to find the perfect spot for it. As the year comes to a close, the board of directors is looking forward to continuing many activities and beginning new ones.

Won’t you join us in helping make the Hollow a better place?
