Local music history talk to be held

Rick Falkowski, founder of the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame and the Buffalo Music Awards, will host a presentation focused on Buffalo entertainment at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at the Brothers of Mercy Senior Apartments, 10500 Bergtold Road, Clarence. Falkowski has been involved in Western New York music for more than 50 years, including positions with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. His popular presentations include “Rock ’n’ Roll Buffalo” and “Early Buffalo Music and Entertainment.” Reservations are requested before Oct. 20. Call 759-2122.

Contemporary Club sets guest speaker

Patrick Hammer of WGRZ Channel 2 will be the guest speaker of the Clarence Contemporary Club on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the Protocol Restaurant, 6766 Transit Road, Williamsville. Hammer will speak about the unpredictable Buffalo weather. The Contemporary Club is a philanthropic and service organization, and the event will include a short meeting and luncheon.
