Bee Heard

Regarding the caller who said he does not want to vote for a new garbage company because his taxes are high enough, does he realize he still pays for garbage? He is paying out of his own pocket, whichever company he chooses. Obviously, the money he pays to the garbage company would be the same, if not less, if added to his taxes. Either way, the caller is paying for garbage. If the entire town used the same company, you would pay less due to a group discount.

I agree with the need to revisit the garbage collection. If you are writing a check to the garbage company, what’s the difference if you paid it in your taxes? As far as dump trucks, they do not go down every single side street eight times.
