LLS launches new fundraising competition

The Western & Central New York Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is seeking high school students who are enthusiastic about volunteerism, philanthropy, community outreach and leadership for a new fundraising competition called Students of the Year. In this program, students will raise funds that will be invested in research to advance lifesaving treatments and cures for blood cancer patients. The campaign will kick off March 22 and will culminate in a grand celebration on May 10, which will include a reception, silent auction and awards presentation. Marketing execs set networking dinner, program

The Buffalo Niagara Sales & Marketing Executives will be hosting a progressive networking dinner starting at 5:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at the Millennium Hotel, 2040 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga. Cocktails and networking will begin at 5:15, dinner will be at 6:15 and there will be a presentation at 7:15. The networking dinner is designed to maximize new connections for members and nonmembers alike. BNSME members get in free; the charge for nonmembers is $40. WNYRPEA plans 20th annual holiday event

The Western New York Retired Public Employees Association will hold its 20th annual holiday luncheon and festivities at noon Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Salvat ore’s Italian Gardens, 6461 Transit Road, Depew.
