PLANT WNY to host seminars, show

The Professional Landscape and Nursery Trades of WNY Foundation is sponsoring a trade show and education conference on Friday, Feb. 2, at Salvatore’s Italian Gardens, 6461 Transit Road, Depew. The keynote speaker is Kerry Ann Mendez, an award-winning garden designer, author and lecturer. In addition to the Mendez talk, there will be 12 more seminars and a trade show. Seminars are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Ticket information and online registration can be found at the website www.plantwny.com.

Heroin Addiction and Recovery Forum slated

The Canisius Golden Griffin Counseling Seminar will present “Four Components of Heroin Addiction and Recover y” from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, in the Grupp Fireside Lounge on the second floor of the Richard E. Winter Student Center. The four components are: attachment, needle obsession, heroin lifestyle and heroin culture. The cost of the seminar is $35 for professionals and $20 for students. WNYRPEA plans Feb. 28 meeting, luncheon

The Western New York Chapter of Retired Public Employees Association will hold a general meeting and luncheon at noon Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Polish Falcons Hall, 445 Columbia Ave., Depew. The agenda will include a guest speaker and topic, both of which are still pending. There will also be a news update from Albany. The registration deadline for the luncheon is Friday, Feb. 16.
