Junior League to offer two scholarships

The Junior League of Buffalo will award two $2,000 scholarships to graduating female high school seniors who are outstanding leaders in the Western New York community. The scholarships will help the students with tuition, books, housing, and other fees and expenses. All applications must be submitted by Feb. 28, via the Junior League website, www.jlbuffalo.org. Forum slated on heroin addiction

The Canisius Golden Griffin Counseling Seminar will present “Four Components of Heroin Addiction and Recover y” from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, in the Grupp Fireside Lounge on the second floor of the Richard E. Winter Student Center. The four components are: attachment, needle obsession, heroin lifestyle and heroin culture. The cost of the seminar is $35 for professionals and $20 for students. NAMI to hold caregiver support groups

National Alliance on Mental Illness Buffalo & Erie County will be offering two family support groups to families and caregivers of people living with mental illness. They will be presented at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, from the following locations: St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4007 Main St., Amherst, and BestSelf Behavioral Health, 3176 Abbott Road, Orchard Park.
